                          NEWS ADVISORY:
                   BUCKEYES, START YOUR ENGINES!

The Ohio State University will announce a new academic and
business partnership and unveil an Ohio State stock car and a
NASCAR truck at a news conference Tuesday (7/28). The event
announcing an "Ohio State Motorsports" program will take place at
11 a.m. at the Center for Automotive Research, 930 Kinnear Road.
Reporters should enter through the garage at the rear of the
building.

Appearing at the press conference will be Ohio State
graduate and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Lonnie Rush of
Pickerington. Rush will race a truck featuring an Ohio State
logo in his July 30 appearance at the Cummins 200 at Indianapolis
Raceway Park. Also on hand will be ARCA driver and Ohio State
graduate Josh Baltes of Dayton. Baltes will be racing a stock
car with an Ohio State logo Aug. 28 at the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde
event at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

A merchandising program -- including an Ohio State
Motorsports logo -- that will support initiatives at the Center
for Automotive Research (CAR) and the student motorsports project
teams in the College of Engineering also will be announced at the
press conference.
