Ohio State University statement on O'Brien case

Ohio State University Director of Media Relations, Jim Lynch, issued the following statement today:

“The Ohio State University is disappointed that the Supreme Court of Ohio has chosen not to hear an appeal in the case regarding former basketball coach Jim O'Brien. With this ruling, the university has exhausted all of its available appeals and the case will conclude. The outcome of this case is disappointing news, as universities such as Ohio State hold themselves to the highest possible standards and take appropriate action after discovering NCAA violations. We are very thankful to the many other universities and athletic conferences across the nation who stood by our side in this case to support our actions.”
