Buckeye Vet Prep Camp introduces students to the animal world – June 15 – 19. Forty-two high school students were selected from 225 applicants to participate in the College of Veterinary Medicine’s third annual Buckeye Vet Prep Camp. Students will stay in residence halls on Ohio State’s campus during the week and will participate in a variety of hands-on activities, as well as field trips to The Wilds, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and a behind-the-scenes-tour of the Newport Aquarium. Campus activities take place Wednesday, June 17, and Friday, June 19. More than half (23) students are from out of state, including California and Puerto Rico. Camp inspires underrepresented students to explore medicine – June 15 – July 2. M.D. Camp, an intensive three-week summer program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, offers high-achieving underrepresented minority students and recent graduates a rare medical experience. The annual M.D. Camp, which runs June 15 to July 2, aims to increase the number of physicians who are underrepresented in medicine and who elect to serve underrepresented populations of patients.
M.D. Camp is open to high school juniors and seniors and recent high school graduates who are interested in pursuing careers in the health professions.

Putting quality schooling within reach for Ethiopian children – June 16. Fozya Tesfa Adem, dean of education, University of Gondar, will explain how her country, one of the poorest in the world, is reforming its schools by using early childhood education research.
