Ohio State updates status of elevator inspections - 10/25/06

The Ohio State University has reported that static brake tests have been completed on all of the high-rise residence halls on campus as part of its evaluation of all residence hall elevators.

No mechanical deficiencies have been detected in tests conducted today (10/25) in Lincoln and Morrill towers. All six elevators passed inspection in Lincoln Tower and all six elevators tested in Morrill passed as well.

Additionally, visual tests, which were completed on the university's 19 low-rise residential halls, showed no signs of concern. Similar tests of those elevator operating systems will begin Thursday (10/26).

Following are results of the static brake tests to date:
