Ohio State will join local educators in "College Prep 101"

Barbara Snyder, executive vice president and provost of The Ohio State University, will join with Columbus Public Schools Superintendent Gene Harris, Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor Roderick Chu, representatives from area colleges and universities, and city and local business leaders to announce "College Prep 101," a new college access plan for Columbus Public Schools (CPS) students.

The new program will be announced during a Columbus Public Schools Higher Education Partnership(CPS/HEP) President's Summit at 4 p.m. on Monday (10/24) at the Longaberger Alumni House, 2200 Olentangy River Road.

The CPS/HEP was created in 2002 to improve the achievement of all CPS students by integrating contributions from local higher education institutions. Ohio State is a charter member of the partnership; others include Capital University, Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus State Community College, Ohio Dominican University, and Otterbein College. In addition, DeVry University will be formally added to the group during the meeting.

Ohio State, through its P-12 Project, works to connect people and organizations within and among Ohio's educational institutions. The P-12 Project leads Ohio State's efforts in the CPS/HEP.
