Personal finance expert to visit Ohio State on Nov. 6

Beth Kobliner, author of “Get a Financial Life: Personal Finance in Your Twenties and Thirties,” will speak to first-year students at 4 p.m. on Monday (11/6) at the Ohio Union Conference Theatre, 1739 N. High Street.

Kobliner's lecture is part of the First-Year Success Series, sponsored by Ohio State's office of Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience. The First-Year Success Series offers more than 300 sessions to help Ohio State freshmen learn how to utilize resources and solve problems so that they can successfully transition to university life.

Kobliner is a personal finance expert who focuses her work on how to help young people plan for their financial future. She was a staff writer at Money Magazine for eight years and has written for The New York Times. She has appeared frequently as a financial expert on CNN, MSNBC, Today and the Oprah Winfrey Show. Newsweek calls her book "a life's worth of smart financial advice."
