President Gee to host faculty on two-day road trip to central and northern Ohio

New faculty and administrative leaders from The Ohio State University will take a two-day road trip across central and northern Ohio on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 as part of an annual effort to provide new faculty with a first-hand look at Ohio State’s partnerships across the state.

“This tour enables our new faculty to witness the University’s enormous impact across Ohio,” said Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee. “From our continued partnership with COSI to the tremendous research being done at Stone Laboratory, our tour through central and northern Ohio will showcase the power of collaborating with our communities.”

As the state’s flagship land-grant institution of higher learning, Ohio State has forged partnerships in each of Ohio’s 88 counties and works aggressively to address Ohio's emerging needs and create opportunities for growth and progress.

This year’s Roads Scholars Tour will include visits to:

*COSI
*Transportation Research Center in Union County
*Ohio State’s Marion campus
*Wyandot Solar field
*Stone Laboratory on Gibraltar Island
*Columbus State’s Delaware campus

Gee first initiated the Roads Scholars Tour in 1997, and since then, new faculty and administrative leaders have traveled to all parts of the state to better understand how Ohio State’s partnerships have improved lives and strengthened the state's economy. One of the president’s strategic goals for the university is enhancing its work with Ohio's communities.
