Professional counsels families at vet hospital

It's not unusual for families to find themselves facing decisions on whether or when they should put their pets to sleep. To help families cope, the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine has added a full-time licensed social worker. Jennifer Brandt, who has taught at the vet school for the last four years, is responsible for a newly established Human-Animal Bond-Centered Education and Practice Program, as well as family, faculty, student and staff support services. Brandt is available to talk to reporters about how she helps families face the tough choices relating to health-care for their pets.
