Public Safety Announcement from The Ohio State University - 04/07/13

This evening The Ohio State University Police Division issued the following announcement:

The Ohio State University Police Division has information, originating from a chat site, that referenced a potential threat of shooting or explosive violence focused on a 'cafeteria' or other unspecified area of campus on Monday (04/08/2013) on The Ohio State University Columbus campus. We are taking this information seriously and continue to aggressively investigate. We will have extra police and security presence on and around campus dining facilities. We have the assistance of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

This information is being sent so that the university community is aware and to ask assistance in reporting any suspicious persons, behavior or packages today or in the future. We take this opportunity to remind everyone: If you See Something, Say Something -- dial 9-1-1 in an emergency or 292-2121 to reach the Police Division's non-emergency line.

At this point, we do not know if this new information is related to the threat received last week.

Updates will be posted on: emergency.osu.edu">
