REMEMBERING 9/11

On this anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our country and our people, it is appropriate for us to pause and remember those who died and to honor those whose heroic efforts saved thousands of lives. And as we do so, we can be grateful that we live in the relatively calm and safe environment of a free country. When we reflect on what is at stake, and what people in other parts of the world deal with every day, the small inconveniences, such as we face at airports, seem trivial. Our university community strives in a multitude of ways, through education, to create a better world in which all can safely pursue their dreams. Our hearts go out to those of you who are personally touched on this anniversary.
