Richard Finan to Discuss Public Education

                          NEWS ADVISORY:
              STATE SENATE PRESIDENT RICHARD FINAN 
                  TO SPEAK ON PUBLIC EDUCATION

     State Senate President Richard Finan, R-Cincinnati, will 
discuss the legislative process relating to school finance, the 
DeRolph decision and educational accountability Wednesday (4/15) 
from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in 115 Ramseyer Hall, 29 W. Woodruff 
Ave., on The Ohio State University Columbus campus.

Finan, a senator since 1978, has been instrumental in 
seeking legislative solutions to issues relating to adequacy and 
equity in education.  He will meet with Ohio State students, 
faculty and staff in the seventh of a series of campus forums 
titled "The Future of Public Education in Ohio."

     The series is designed to provide an opportunity for 
students and policy-makers to air and debate public policy issues 
related to education.  The forum is presented through PROBE 
(Policy Research for Ohio Based Education), housed in the College 
of Education.
