School of Architecture to dedicate Knowlton Hall

President Karen A. Holbrook, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees Daniel Slane and school Director Robert Livesey are among the officials to take part in the dedication of the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture’s new academic building, Knowlton Hall. The event is at 3:30 p.m. on Friday (10/29) at the east entrance of the facility, located at 275 W. Woodruff Ave.

A reception and self-guided tours of the building will immediately follow the dedication ceremony.

Knowlton Hall was designed by Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects of Atlanta and Wandel and Schnell Inc. of Columbus. The 168,000-square-foot facility features gallery space for exhibitions, central review space for critiques of student work, a materials/fabrication laboratory, an experimental roof garden, a 30,000-volume library, two computer laboratories, a digital image library and a café.

The $33 million facility was spearheaded by a $16 million gift from Knowlton. The gift is one of the largest in Ohio State’s history.
