Slideshow: Ice cream, special events help Ohio State honor staff contributions

Free ice cream at the Ohio Union started off a week of appreciation for the staff of The Ohio State University.

An ice cream social was one of several events this week for Staff Appreciation Week. It’s an annual celebration of Ohio State staff members to recognize their contributions to the university.

“It takes the contributions of every staff member at the university to fulfill the university’s bold mission. It’s important to recognize all of those individuals whose work every day takes Ohio State to the heights of success we expect as a university,” said Office of Human Resources Associate Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Kimberly Shumate. “Staff are integral to the success and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and patients.”

Throughout the week, campus-wide events and activities are planned for the thousands of Ohio State staff members to thank them for their dedication to advancing the university’s mission.

Additionally, colleges, offices and departments are also hosting appreciation events throughout the week.
