Statement from Ohio State University

The Ohio State University extends its deepest sympathy to the family, friends and coworkers of James C. Higgins, an Oracle Elevator Company employee who lost his life in an accident today.

The accident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. at the former Holiday Inn on the Lane, currently owned by Campus Partners and leased to The Ohio State University. The university plans to renovate the building into a residence hall. Today, workers from the Oracle Elevator Company were in the building preparing elevators for furnitureremoval and upcoming construction.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Columbus Division of Police.
