"The state of Ohio has lost a dear friend. Senator Voinovich was a talented and dedicated public servant and statesman, but above all a devoted and loving family man. He supported the university in ways great and small, from assisting faculty and staff with visas, advocating for student aid and research funding, and pushing us to be the best university in the country. On behalf of the entire Ohio State University community, we offer our heartfelt condolences, prayers, and best wishes to the entire Voinovich family."
