Statement from The Ohio State University

University spokesman Ben Johnson issued the following statement in response to Governor DeWine's proposed state budget.

We thank Governor DeWine and his administration for introducing strategic investments in Ohio’s future as part of his proposed state budget. Increasing funding for the Ohio College Opportunity Grant by $6,000 per student per year will make the dream of a college degree accessible for more Ohioans. Offering scholarships for high-achieving students will ensure that our best and brightest stay in Ohio to learn, work, and build their lives.

In keeping with our land-grant mission, The Ohio State University is eager to partner with Governor DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly to find solutions to advance and improve behavioral health, water quality, workforce and economic development, and the well-being of all Ohio families.

Ohio State looks forward to reviewing the details of the governor’s initiatives, and the university will remain engaged in the budget process as it continues in the Ohio General Assembly.
