Statement from The Ohio State University

Without commenting on this particular tweet, encouraging civil dialogue among students is central to the university’s educational mission, and we remind our community that there is no place for hatred or intolerance in any form at Ohio State.

We take this behavior seriously and have processes in place to immediately respond.

The university became aware of this matter on Tuesday evening. The Ohio State University Police Division took immediate action, located the individual, interviewed him, and did a thorough on-site assessment. Ohio State University Police coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and both agencies determined the individual did not pose a credible threat to public safety, and the university referred the matter for further review and consequences.

The safety and security of our campus community is our top priority. The Department of Public Safety will continue to have a visible presence on campus to support all of our students.
