FORMER WATERGATE CO-CONSPIRATOR LECTURES ON CAMPUS--Apr. 8.  G. 
Gordon Liddy will lecture on Survive or Prevail to a sold-out crowd 
at 7 p.m. in the Ohio Union Ballrooms, 1739 N. High St.  Liddy, now a 
radio talk-show host, is expected to take questions from the audience 
until about 8:30, and then hold a news conference at 9 p.m. in the 
Terrace Dining Room.  The event is sponsored by the Student Events 
Committee, College Republicans at OSU, Residence Hall Advisory 
Council and the Undergraduate Student Government as part of their 
1996 lecture series.

UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WEEK--Apr. 8-14.   Helping 
students understand their connection to the global community is a 
goal of International Week, sponsored by the Office of International 
Education.  About 4,000 international students attend Ohio State.  
Events include a lecture by Betty Williams, winner of the 1977 Nobel 
Peace Prize on Apr. 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Ohio Union Conference 
Theatre, 1739 N. High St.  Williams, director of the Global 
Children's Foundation, co-founded the Community of the Peace People, 
an organization dedicated to non-violent resistance in Northern 
Ireland.  Other activities include an African Symposium: Africa in 
the 21st Century: Transcending Marginalization, Apr. 9 from 3-6 p.m. 
in Oxley Hall, International Students' Art Exhibit all week in Oxley 
Hall, 1712 Neil Ave, a Peace Corps volunteers reception, Apr. 11 in 
Oxley Hall, and an International Bazaar, Apr. 12 from 6-10 p.m. in 
the Morrison Graduate Tower Lobby, 196 W. 11th Ave.

AIDS WORKSHOP--Apr. 9.   A workshop on the historic, medical and 
social impact of the AIDS will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Frank 
Hale Black Cultural Center, 153 W. 12th Ave.

HEALTH FAIR--Apr. 11. Ohio State students, faculty and staff can 
receive free screenings for some health problems and receive 
information on conditions like heart disease, sickle cell anemia and 
AIDS, at the annual Health Fair, 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., at the Frank Hale 
Black Cultural Center, 153 W. 12th Ave.  Co-sponsors of the event 
include the Office of Minority Affairs, the Colleges of Medicine, 
Optometry, and Dentistry; the Columbus Black Women's Health Project, 
the American Cancer Society, the Columbus AIDS Task Force, African 
Wholistik Health, and the American Heart Association.

SCHOLARS DISCUSS SECURITY  ISSUES IN EASTERN EUROPE--Apr. 12-13.  As 
part of International Week, experts in Slavic studies and national 
security meet at Ohio State to discuss After the Warsaw Pact: 
Security and Change in the New Eastern Europe.  The two-day program 
will look at civil-military relationships, security dilemmas, the 
security and defense policies that have emerged since 1989, and the 
U.S. role in European security and the future of NATO.. Mary 
Pendleton, former U.S.ambassador to Moldova,will discuss The U.S. and 
Security and the New Eastern Europe: The Perspective from Moldova a 
lecture at 1:30, Friday in the Grand Lounge of the Faculty Club, 181 
S. Oval Dr. The program is sponsored by the Center for Slavic and 
East European studies and the Mershon Center, which conducts research 
and educational activities in international security and public 
policy.
