FLOOD INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON THE WEB--An estimated 9,000 Ohioans 
in 24 counties were forced out of their homes by flood waters this 
week.  To help these people find information about cleaning after a 
flood, filing a flood insurance claim, disinfecting laundry, saving 
photographs and other flood-related concerns, Ohio State University 
Extension is maintaining a World Wide Web site with links to 
official updates, fact sheets and other resources for flood 
victims. The site's address is http://www.ag.ohio-
state.edu/~flood98/.  The site includes information from Ohio 
State, Wisconsin, Illinois and Kansas Extension, the American Red 
Cross, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the Consumer Product 
Safety Commission, and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

CAMPUS HOSTS CLARINETFEST--July 7-12.  Three Silver Anniversary 
Gala Concerts highlight the 25th Annual ClarinetFest, a conference 
of the International Clarinet Association.  Hosted by the School of 
Music, the theme for the 1998 ClarinetFest is Vienna and the 
Clarinet.  Concerts featuring this versatile instrument will be 
held at Mershon Auditorium on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 
8:30 p.m.  The Wednesday event features the period instruments with 
the New World Basset Horn Trio and Mozart's Requiem by the Columbus 
Symphony Chamber Orchestra and Columbus Metropolitan Chorale.  
Thursday is an evening of clarinet concertos with the Columbus 
Symphony Orchestra.  The Columbus Jazz Orchestra with clarinet 
soloist Buddy DeFranco performs on Friday.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETS--July 10. The Board of Trustees and its 
committees will hold its regular June meeting at 11 a.m. in the 
Fawcett Center, 2400 Olentangy River Rd. Committee meetings, where 
most of the discussion takes place, begin at 9:15 a.m.

MEDICAL CENTER RECRUITS VOLUNTEERS FOR TWO STUDIES--People with 
Parkinson's disease and healthy people age 50-89 are being sought 
for separate studies at The Ohio State University Medical Center.  
Parkinson's patients will be asked to stay in the Clinical Research 
Center for 35 days to evaluate a new drug that may provide better 
treatment and fewer side effects than the current medications 
available.  Interested people should call 688-4056 or 688-8672.  A 
second study seeks healthy people to undergo several medical exams 
over two days to help establish parameters for certain diagnostic 
tests often used for people with nerve diseases.  To enroll, call
