MEDICAL CENTER OFFERS CLASS ON SUDDEN DEATH IN ATHLETES--July 20.  
A sports medicine physician at the Ohio State University Medical 
Center will discuss sudden death in athletes at 7 p.m. at 201 OSU 
Westerville Sports Medicine and Family Health, 1245 Sunbury Rd.  
Dr. Christopher Maropis will explain the conditions that can lead 
to death in association with exercise, strategies to prevent sudden 
death in athletes, and review the death of figure skater Sergi 
Grinkov.

ERGONOMICS INSTITUTE OFFERS SEMINAR--July 20.  The Institute for 
Ergonomics invites you to attend the Summer Quarter Seminar 
presented by Dr. Brian Peacock, Manager of General Motors 
Manufacturing Ergonomics Laboratory.  Dr. Peacock's presentation, 
Ergo is More Difficult than Nomos, will focus on the relationship 
between ergonomics application and research.  Dr. Peacock will 
speak on Monday July 20 at 11:30 a.m. in Room 263 Dreese 
Laboratories, 2015 Neil Ave.

THE JOYS AND SORROWS OF KIDS AND TEAM SPORTS--July 24.  The Faculty 
and Staff Wellness Program offers a series of free lunch hour 
educational programs during summer quarter.  Children and Team 
Sports; What's in it for Them and for You! offers practical tips 
for organizing schedules, dealing with disappointment on and off 
the field, and how to maximize the healthy experiences sports can 
offer.  The class will be held in 100 Enarson Hall, 154 W. 12th 
Ave.

OSU GYMNAST AND GYMNASTICS COACH WILL REPRESENT U.S. AT GOODWILL 
GAMES--July 16-Aug. 2.  Sophomore gymnast Jamie Natalie will 
represent the U.S. as one of only six Americans to make the U.S. 
Gymnastics Goodwill Games team.  The competition takes place July 
16-Aug. 2 in Long Island, New York.  Natalie was one of the top 
freshmen gymnasts in the country last season, scoring team season 
highs for Ohio State on vault, pommel horse and parallel bars.  Head 
gymnastics coach Miles Avery has been named an assistant for the 
men's U.S. Gymnastics Goodwill Games team.  Avery, who finished his 
first year as head coach at Ohio State, has also been an assistant 
at the 1996 Olympics and the 1994 World Championships.
