STUDENTS CELEBRATE BUCKEYE SPIRIT AS 'THE BIG GAME' NEARS--Nov. 22-23.  
Outstanding student-made banners will line 15th Avenue on Saturday morning to 
help build spirit before the Michigan game.   Among the activities scheduled 
to boost enthusiasm for the game: 
  Friday, Nov. 22.  5 p.m., Ohio Stadium.  Former head football coach Earle 
Bruce is the featured speaker at the senior tackle, which features 16 
senior football players taking one final ceremonial hit at the tackling 
dummy.  A pep rally and bonfire follow in the parking lot of the French 
Field House.  Comedian/alumnus Richard Lewis will speak at the pep rally.
  Saturday, Nov. 23. 9-11 a.m., Larkins Hall.  Students are invited to 
Pancake the Wolverines at a free breakfast of pancakes and sausages 
sponsored by Bob Evans Restaurants.  The same menu will be featured in the 
campus dining halls. 
  9:30 a.m., Olentangy River near Drake Union.  OSU vs. Michigan crew race.
  Winners of the banner painting competition for students living east of High 
St. and in the Greek community will be on display:  
 First place: 25 E. Woodruff Ave.
 Second place: 30 E. 12th Ave.
 Third place: Delta Delta Delta, 229 E. 15th Ave. 
  9:30 a.m., Spirit Tunnel forms along 15th Avenue between High and Summit.  
As the team buses pass by, the public is invited to line the sidewalks and 
cheer the Buckeye Football team to victory over Michigan.  Students have 
prepared banners to wave, including tributes to the TV networks and local 
TV stations.  Team buses are expected to arrive about 9:55 a.m.  Football 
game begins at 12:10 p.m.

STUDENTS AVAILABLE SATURDAY MORNING FOR RADIO AND TV INTERVIEWS.  Several 
students who have played leadership roles in organizing the week's activities 
at Ohio State will be happy to talk about the successful food drive, the 
banner contest, pep rally, etc.  You can reach them at these numbers to

THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR CAMPUS COMMUNITY--Nov. 28.  Ohio State's Office of 
Minority Affairs and the Frank W. Hale Jr. Black Cultural Center will host 
Thanksgiving Dinner from 1-6 p.m. at the Hale Center, 153 W. 12th Ave.  The 
dinner is open to all students, faculty and staff and is free; however, 
reservations are recommended.  (Call 292-0074 Nov. 16-27).  This is the fifth 
year for the dinner at the Hale Center.  Last year, 125 students attended.  
Many members of the campus community are unable to go home for Thanksgiving; 
this offers a chance to share the holiday with an extended 'family.'

UNIVERSITY CLOSED --Nov. 28-29.  Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, there 
will be no Ohio State University classes and offices will be closed on 
Thursday and Friday.

CLASSICAL REVIVALS IN DRESS--Dec. 3. Classical Revivals in Dress will be 
presented by Patricia Cunningham, associate professor of Consumer and Textile 
Sciences in the College of Human Ecology, at 4:30 p.m. in the Geraldine 
Schottenstein Wing of Campbell Hall, 1787 Neil Avenue.  Cunningham will 
discuss classically revived clothing styles, including the dress reform 
movement  of the late 19th and early 20th century.  The lecture is the second 
in the Fashioning the Future lecture series, which looks at how we fashion our 
future based on revivals of styles, silhouettes, and design elements from our 
past.

OHIO STATE STUDENTS TO SEND BOXES TO BOSNIA -- Dec. 5.  Some 75 Ohio State 
University students will stuff 250 to 300 boxes with Ohio State items, general 
toiletries, small non-perishable food items, rose lapel pins and letters 
written by students, to send to Ohio soldiers stationed in Bosnia.
The boxes are to thank soldiers for their service in Bosnia and to let them 
know students are thinking of them.  The students, residents of Ohio State 
residence halls and members of DARE, Drackett Area Reach-out Effort, perform 
various community service projects throughout the school year.  The stuffing 
will be Thursday Dec. 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Royer Student 
Activities Center, 85 Curl Drive.  CONTACT: Jeff Redfield,  292-8611.

Dec. 7--University Senate meets, 9 a.m., Kottman Hall, 2021 Coffey Rd.  
Provost Richard Sisson will speak.
Dec. 13.  Autumn quarter commencement.  John Ong, chairman and CEO of B.F. 
Goodrich, is the speaker.
