Student Move-in Day 2003 Fact Sheet

COLUMBUS – Student Move-in Day for approximately 6,000 Ohio State University undergraduate and graduate students will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (9/21). Students will check-in and obtain their room keys at Value City Arena at The Jerome Schottenstein Center, 555 Borror Dr., where they also will find a network of university services and information available.

Campus representatives will include: Transportation and Parking Services, the Athletics Ticket Office, Office of Fees and Deposits, Office of Student Financial Aid, BuckID Card Services, the Wilce Student Health Center, Office of Minority Affairs, Multicultural Center, the Parent Association and the Ohio State University Bookstores. Afterward, students will be strategically directed to their assigned residence halls.

The following quick facts include information regarding Student Move-in Day.

·Approximately 5,000 to 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students are expected to move into residence halls.
·Approximately 10,000 students will live in the residence halls during the 2003-2004 academic year.
·Ohio State’s housing facilities include 28 residence halls, highlighted by the newly-constructed Worthington-Neil-Scholars Complex, a residence for graduate students and undergraduate upperclassmen.
·Within the 28 residences halls, there are 4,022 undergraduate rooms.
·Between 10,000 and 15,000 people, including students, families and friends, are expected to be on campus during Student Move-in Day.
·More than 600 staff members from the Office of Student Affairs will be assisting students and their families.
·Approximately 1,400 students who have volunteered as Ohio State Welcome Leaders (OWLS) will help unload belongings from cars and vans and deliver them to assigned residence hall rooms.
