Students to join annual Weinland Park Spring Clean-up

Ohio State University students will join with community members on Saturday morning (4/23) for the annual Weinland Park Spring Clean-up in an effort to beautify the area near the university. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Clean-up will occur in several neighorhood locations from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Media should come to the Godman Guild, 303 E. 6th Avenue, during registration from 9 to 10 a.m. for specific locations.

The project is a collaboration involving Project Community (the Ohio Union’s community service initiatives), Community Properties Organization, the Godman Guild, University Area Enrichment Association, Northside CDC, Sport Stop, Youth Build, and the Faith Based Partnership Initiative.

Volunteers will undertake a number of projects, including graffiti removal, sewer drain labeling, trash pick-up and community gardening.

WHAT:Ohio State students will volunteer for the Weinland Park Spring Clean-up

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Media should come to the Godman Guild, 303 E. 6th Avenue between 9 and 10 a.m. during registration for site locations. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. is clean-up; volunteers can have lunch at the Godman Guild from 1-2 p.m.
