TBDBITL climbs ‘Stairway’ to halftime

Marching band performs hits from rock icons Led Zeppelin

At halftime during this weekend’s home football game against Penn State, The Ohio State University Marching Band paid tribute to Led Zeppelin.

The band performed “Kashmir,” “Rock and Roll,” “All My Love,” “Black Dog,” “Immigrant Song” and “Stairway to Heaven.”

Formations included guitars, a blimp over clouds and a stairway. In addition, five members of the band swapped out their regular instruments during an on-field, onstage performance: Ryan Harris (snare drum) played the drums, Sam George (sousaphone), lead guitar; Ben Dollenmayer (trumpet), rhythm guitar; Noah Krupa (mellophone), bass guitar; and Corbin Russ (mellophone), keyboard.

This week’s i-dotter was neuroscience major Zach de Mesa. Also featured during the show was drum major Clayton Callendar.
