THREE RECEIVE NEW AWARD FOR FACULTY SERVICE
COLUMBUS -- Whether it was increasing faculty involvement
in university governance, leading numerous committees, or
providing a vision for the physical environment, the first three
recipients of a new Ohio State University award for faculty
service have each given unstintingly of their time to the benefit
of the entire university community.
In recognition of the significant impact they have had on
the quality of the university, the Faculty Award for
Distinguished University Service has been bestowed on Harry P.
Allen, professor of mathematics; W. Randy Smith, professor of
geography; and Paul E. Young, professor of architecture.
Each received a cash award of $3,000 and a $1,200 increase
in his base salary.
