Top five things to remember for attending football games

1.Your ticket. (If you are an OSU student, you’ll also need your BuckID.)
* ALL tickets have barcodes that will be scanned at the gate. Fans should hold up their tickets with the barcode exposed to minimize time spent in line.

2.Leave home early. Stadium gates open at 10 a.m. Kickoff is 12:05 p.m.

3.Motorists should expect heavy traffic and follow directions of traffic control officers to best available public parking.
* For fans parking on West Campus, a free shuttle will provide continuous service to and from the stadium beginning five hours before kickoff continuing through one hour after the game.
* Security checkpoints will prohibit trucks in the area around the stadium.
* Fans that park in permit lots and garages near stadium should have their parking pass clearly visible.
* The new 315 ramps to the OSU Medical Center are closed to football traffic. Only EMS vehicles will be permitted to use them.

4.Tailgate parties, before and after the game, are a tradition at Ohio State. However, we are compelled to enforce existing state and local laws.
* Grills are allowed on surface parking lots. State Fire Marshal codes prohibit grills (charcoal or propane) in parking garages, including the rooftop level.
* State laws regarding use and possession of alcohol will be enforced on campus and on nearby city streets, sidewalks and parks. Both Columbus Police and OSU Police will issue citations or make arrests for violations of laws prohibiting open containers of alcohol in public areas, including university parking lots and garages.

5.Don’t bring prohibited items to the stadium. Those include: weapons of any type; large bags or backpacks; food; beverages; coolers or other containers; video cameras;
cameras with professional lenses; televisions; radios without headsets; chairback
seats; banners, signs, noisemakers or other irritants.
