Traffic Alert: Thousands expected to attend multiple events at Ohio State on Saturday

The Ohio State University will be a very busy place on Saturday (6/7) with several events that will bring thousands of visitors to campus. Those planning to be on campus should allow additional travel time and expect heavy traffic. There will be signboards to guide visitors to the event they are trying to reach, and drivers are encouraged to follow the signboards and directions of the officers on the street.

Events include:
* Ohio High School Track and Field tournaments
* Eight high school graduations – five Columbus City Schools and three Dublin City Schools
* Three Ohio State University convocation ceremonies (Fisher College of Business, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine)

Other events taking place on Saturday linclude:
* 4H Clothing Judges Training (Nationwide 4H Building)
* Humanities Baccalaureate (Hitchcock Hall)
* Wind Symphony Pops Concert (Weigel Hall)
* African American Farewell Celebration (Independence Hall)
* SAT testing (McPherson)

Ohio High School Track and Field Tournaments begin at 9:30 a.m. for Division III, 1 p.m. for Division II and 4:30 p.m. for Division I.
Fans are encouraged to use the Ackerman Road exit from State Route 315, head east on Ackerman Road and turn right at Fred Taylor Drive. Free parking will be available in the Buckeye Lots, located near the intersection of Ackerman Road and Fred Taylor Drive.
Between 15,000 and 20,000 fans are expected to attend portions of the state tournaments that day, and gates open at 7:30 a.m.

High school graduations for Dublin Coffman, Jerome and Scioto high schools are scheduled for
1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, at the Schottenstein Center.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to use the East North Broadway exit from State Route 315, turn left (south) onto Olentangy River Road and then right on Borror Drive. Permit and public parking will be available in the lots just north of the Schottenstein Center. Doors open at noon for the graduation ceremonies.

High school graduations for the Columbus City Schools begin at 8:30 a.m. (Briggs);
11:30 a.m. (Brookhaven); 2:30 p.m. (Eastmoor Academy); 5:30 p.m. (Columbus
Alternative), and 8:30 p.m. (Centennial), respectively, at St. John Arena.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to use the Lane Avenue and Medical Center Drive
exits from State Route 315. Free parking will be available in the lots around Ohio Stadium and St. John Arena. Doors open one hour prior to each graduation ceremony.

All other campus events
Please plan to use High Street to reach your destination. Plan to avoid Lane Avenue, Ackerman Road, State Route 315, and Olentangy River road if possible.
