OHIO STATE TRUSTEES APPOINT INVESTMENT MANAGERS
COLUMBUS -- The Ohio State University Board of Trustees
appointed three new investment firms and reappointed several
others to assist in the management of the university's $532
million Endowment Fund.
The new managers of fixed-income accounts and the amounts
assigned to them are:
-- The Common Fund, a higher education consortium,
$10 million.
-- Banc One Investment Advisers Corp., $10 million.
-- Holt-Smith and Renk Inc., a Madison, Wis., firm owned
entirely by women.
Reappointed managers, type of funds, amounts allocated, and
market value of those amounts are:
-- Boatmen's Trust Co., fixed income account, $30 million
allocated, $38,238,005 market value.
-- The Chicago Corp., equities, $13.5 million, $57,007,774.
-- Duff and Phelps Investment Management Co., fixed income,
$15 million, $15,793,439.
-- WR Lazard and Co., fixed income index fund, $30 million,
$30,324,646.
-- R. Meeder and Associates Inc., small capitalization
equity index fund, $20 million, $26,871,260.
-- Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management Emerging Growth,
equities, $20 million, $21,251,880.
-- Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management Mid Cap Growth,
equities, $20 million, $46,578,008.
-- University Managed, equities, $26,958,008 (varies),
$61,534,053.
-- University Managed, fixed income GNMAs, U.S. Treasuries
and agencies, $22.5 million, $22,525,133.
-- University Students (stock market classes), equities, $7
million, $9,573,189.
-- Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors, international
equity index fund, $20 million, $21,687,017; small capitalization
equity index fund, $20 million, $24,437,354; Standard & Poors 500
Equity Index Fund, $54.5 million, $56,048,709.
-- Wood Island Associates Inc., equities, $10 million,
