ACTIONS OF THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

     COLUMBUS -- The Ohio State University Board of Trustees on
Friday (6/6) appointed an associate provost, an interim dean, two
department chairs and reappointed an acting dean and department
chairs.  Trustees appointed two students to regional campus
boards, heard a report on the quality of the student experience,
and conducted other business.

Davis named associate provost for University Technology Services

     Trustees appointed James F. Davis of POWELL as associate
provost and director of University Technology Services, effective
July 1.  Davis, who has been serving in this role as in an
interim capacity since July 1995, is also a professor of chemical
engineering.

     Davis is responsible for academic and administrative
technology support operations, including the university
