ERIC BARRETT RECEIVES STUDENT RECOGNITION AWARD
COLUMBUS -- Eric Barrett of VINCENT, Ohio, a graduating
senior majoring in animal sciences, has won the Ohio State
University Board of Trustees Student Recognition Award. The award
was presented during the June 6 meeting of the board.
Barrett was honored for his leadership role at Ohio State.
He was the 1994-95 recipient of the Edward S. "Beanie" Drake
Student Leader Award and Scholarship, and serves on the board of
directors of the scholarship committee.
A member of the Ohio State 1995 Homecoming Court, Barrett
has served as the president of the Alpha Tau Zeta Fraternity, a
national agriculture fraternity. He was a member of the Bucket
and Dipper Junior Honor Society, the SPHINX Senior Honorary and
treasurer of Phalanx, an organization in the College of Food,
Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, which introduces Ohio
teenagers to the extensive opportunities for an agriculture
education that are available at Ohio State.
Barrett is the son of Mona and Jim Barrett, Route 1, Box
241. He plans to attend graduate school autumn quarter at Ohio
State.
