Two Trustees Offer Reward for Info in Hummer Murder

TWO TRUSTEES OFFER REWARD FOR INFORMATION IN HUMMER MURDER

     COLUMBUS -- Two members of The Ohio State University Board
of Trustees are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading
to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible
for the death of student Stephanie Hummer.

     Milton A. Wolf, chairman of Milton A. Wolf Investors of
Cleveland, and Leslie H. Wexner, chairman and president of The
Limited Inc., have each contributed $5,000 to the reward.

     Hummer, an 18-year-old freshman from Cincinnati, was
apparently abducted early Sunday Morning (3/6) from an area near
the Evans Scholars House, 52 E. 14th Ave., where she lived.  Her
body was found Sunday afternoon.  She had been bludgeoned to
death.

     At this time, Columbus Police have said they have no leads
in the case.

     Wolf and Wexner said they hope the reward they are offering
will encourage someone who has information that would assist the
police to come forward.

     They issued a joint statement saying: "This is a terrible
tragedy -- for Stephanie, her family and friends, and for the
entire campus community, who share their grief and outrage.  The
safety of Ohio State students is a primary concern of all of the
trustees.  In the past few years, the university has done much to
improve the safety and security of the campus.  Unfortunately,
these measures did not protect Stephanie.  We cannot bring her
back, but we hope that through this reward we can help bring her
murderer to justice."

     Information will be coordinated through Crime Stoppers
