University Police can discuss arrests of two suspects for theft

With two recent arrests, University Police are continuing to make a dent in the most common campus crime – theft.

On Tuesday (4/27) morning, police arrested two men suspected of stealing spare tires and other property from cars parked at the Carmack Road lots. Images of the thefts were captured by surveillance cameras, eventually leading to the arrests. Each is charged with one count of complicity, theft and possessing criminal tools.

Rick Amweg, assistant chief of University Police, can discuss the arrests as a part of ongoing efforts by the police to deal with theft on campus. He is available at 2 p.m. today (4/28) in Blankenship Hall, 901 Woody Hayes Drive. He also will provide a copy of the surveillance video to interested media.
