USG tries to build community by investing in program
Ohio State President Karen A. Holbrook and Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President Eddie Pauline will join approximately 200 other students, faculty and staff in USG’s first “Invest Yourself” event designed to build connections between students living in the University District area and other members of the Ohio State community. The student-initiated, community-building program in the in the University District area, will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday (5/18), and will begin at 15th Avenue and High Street.
Student leaders will be paired with faculty or administrators to go door-to-door talking with off-campus residents about improving the University District community and student life at Ohio State.
Building a stronger sense of community in the off-campus neighborhoods is one of the recommendations of the university’s Task Force on Celebratory Riots.
WHAT: The Undergraduate Student Government’s “Invest Yourself” event, which is a student-initiated, community-building event in the University District area.

WHY: To begin building a stronger sense of community among faculty, staff and students, particularly those who live in the University District.
