The Ohio State University Marching Band returned today to a traditional “pregame” performance featuring a ramp entrance, Script Ohio and Carmen Ohio.
With conference-wide COVID-19 safety protocols in place for the return of Big Ten football, marching bands will not perform at games this fall. TBDBITL, however, continues to perform innovative shows over the course of the season for its social media channels.
The show, unveiled before the football game against Rutgers, was filmed last week at Ohio Stadium. The formation was redesigned by marching band director Christopher Hoch to include 6-foot spacing between each band member.
Only the percussion group marches down the ramp during the entrance. Brass players march into the traditional block position from the sidelines. The double Script Ohio was led by drum major Brayden Deemer and assistant drum major Kyle Hustek.
The marching band has instituted numerous safety protocols for the 2020 season. All band members wear special musician masks with slits for their mouths, and all brass players have bell covers on their instruments to help prevent the spread of aerosols.
Throughout the season, fans can visit the marching band’s website for the latest updates and follow TBDBITL on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube for its latest videos.
