WOMEN WITH HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE NEEDED FOR EXERCISE STUDY
COLUMBUS -- Women who have recently been diagnosed with high
blood pressure and are not on any medication are being sought for
a study at The Ohio State University College of Nursing.
Women joining this 20-week study, being conducted by Anne
Fish, a registered nurse who has a doctorate in nursing, will
participate in an exercise program as Fish tries to determine the
effect of exercise on blood pressure.
Women will use exercise machines during their supervised
one-hour aerobic workout three times a week at the College of
Nursing.
Fish is looking for women between the ages of 30 and 70 who
have blood pressure of 140/90 or above, lead a sedentary
lifestyle, and who may be slightly overweight.
Participants will be reimbursed during this study.
