Expert can discuss U.S. Supreme Court case on the Pledge of Allegiance

An Ohio State University expert can discuss the case being reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court on whether the Pledge of Allegiance violates the separation of church and state.

David Goldberger, professor and director of clinical programs in the Moritz College of Law, is an expert on constitutional issues. He says he was surprised by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision to prohibit the pledge as a violation of the First Amendment. Goldberger thinks that the case before the U.S. Supreme Court will be overturned on either constitutional or procedural grounds.
