Extension invites local families to '4-H Festival of Fun'

4-H youth development programs for the University District will be showcased at the 4-H Festival of Fun, from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday (5/14) at the OSU Extension Connection Center, 2350 Indianola Ave., the Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church at the corner of Maynard and Indianola.

The festival, for University District children, youth and families, offers a petting zoo, trolley rides, and opportunities to participate in gardening, sewing, arts & crafts, photography and birdhouse-making.

District residents can learn about innovative youth development programs for the area, including a new 4-H summer day camp for 75 to 80 youth that incorporates 4-H activities, transportation, lunch, and daily trips to libraries and recreation centers. The youth will be supervised by older teens in the district who have participated in leadership training since March.
