Title IX Report to be delivered to Education Secretary

Title IX, the anti-discrimination law credited with opening sports to millions of girls and women, may undergo changes after a report reaches the desk of U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige today. The report was written by a 15-member Title IX Commission on Opportunity in Athletics.
The New York Times is reporting that the commission asserts advances for women have come at the expense of men, and that the law needs to be updated.
The Ohio State University Athletics program is the nation’s largest, fielding squads in 37 sports.
Ohio State faculty members and athletics staff are available to discuss Title IX compliance issues with the media.
