Buckeye Nation Rewards loyalty program connects fans, university

The Ohio State University has launched its first ever loyalty program targeting students, faculty, staff, friends and fans of all things Ohio State.

Buckeye Nation Rewards provides exclusive benefits to the university’s fans and supporters. Members complete online challenges and receive prizes, rewards and discounts as they connect with Ohio State and its sponsors.

“Our program is first of its kind. We wanted to create a way to reward our community’s loyalty while also providing fun and engaging ways to stay connected with the university,” said Assistant Vice President of Business Advancement Rick Van Brimmer.

The program had a soft launch earlier this year and Van Brimmer said organizers are seeing great feedback and engagement from more than 15,000 members who are actively participating in the program and earning prizes or discounts.

Buckeye Nation Rewards members can grow their “GoBucks” in a variety of ways. “GoBucks” are awarded for joining the program, recruiting friends and family, reading articles or watching videos, answering quizzes and surveys and sharing via social media.

“GoBucks” can be redeemed for entries into contests or discounts on merchandise. Current contests include sweepstakes for a trip for two on the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and a Buckeye Bowl Game Giveaway that includes tickets, hotel and airfare to Ohio State’s bowl game destination.

Buckeye Nation Rewards is an official university program managed by the Office of Affinity and Trademark Management and supported by the Department of Athletics.
